This manuscript recognizes the contributions of Native Americans to the field of art and history. The goal of this research is to expose and educate people to the accomplishments of Native Americans often omitted in American art and history. My manuscript has five major components to accomplish this goal:
- a one-page biographical narrative of the artist or regional artists
- an illustrated portrait of the artist
- a follow-up section that includes important terms and people, topics for class discussion, art activities and suggested reading
- reproduction of an original piece of art produced by the artist or a reproduction reflective of the context in which the pioneer lived
- a glossary of people and terms for student reference
